Margana (Elis)

Southern Europe

Margana was a town in the district of Pisatis in ancient Elis, in the western Peloponnese of Greece, in the territory known as Amphidolia. The Eleians were forced to give up their control over it under a treaty with Sparta in 400 BC, and it is recorded as one of the Triphylian towns captured by the Arcadians during their war with Elis in 366 BC. Its site has not been located. This description is adapted from Wikipedia contributors under CC BY-SA 4.0; changes were made. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/
