Masbate City is a component city and the capital of Masbate province, in the Bicol Region of the Philippines. Founded as a town in 1864 and converted to a city on September 30, 2000 under Republic Act 8807, it had a 2024 census population of 104,011 across 188.00 square kilometers. The city serves as the province main commercial center and chief seaport and is known as the Rodeo Capital of Southeast Asia.
