Megalopoli is a town in the southwestern part of the Arcadia regional unit in southern Greece, built on the site of the ancient city of Megalopolis. The ancient city was founded in 371 BC as the first large urban center in rural Arcadia, and its theatre, with a capacity of about 20,000 spectators, was one of the largest in the ancient Greek world.
