Megara Hyblaea, perhaps identical with the city ancient sources call Hybla Major, was an ancient Greek colony of Magna Graecia in Sicily. It stood near Augusta on the island's east coast, about 20 kilometers north-northwest of Syracuse, on the bay formed by the Xiphonian promontory. Ancient accounts describe at least three different Sicilian cities named Hybla, which are often confused with one another.
