Memaliaj is a town and municipality in Gjirokaster County, southern Albania, formed at the 2015 local government reform through the merger of the former municipalities of Buz, Krahes, Luftinje, Memaliaj, Memaliaj Fshat and Qesarat, which became its municipal units, with the town of Memaliaj as its seat. The municipality's total population is 10,657 across 372.30 square kilometers. It is populated entirely by Albanians, both Muslim Bektashis and Eastern Orthodox Christians, who speak the Tosk dialect of Albanian.
