Mohács is a town in Baranya County, Hungary, on the right bank of the Danube, with a population of 17,808 at the 2011 census. It hosts the annual Busojaras carnival, inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009. Two pivotal battles were fought near Mohács, in 1526, which marked the start of Ottoman rule in Hungary, and in 1687, which marked its end.
