Neskaupstadur is a town on the fjord Nordfjordur on the eastern side of Iceland, facing the Norwegian Sea, and forms part of the municipality of Fjardabyggd. As of 2016 it had a population of 1,481, making it the second largest town in the Eastern Region. The town grew from a farm called Nes, originally settled by Egill Raudi.
