Neuburg an der Donau is a town on the Danube River in the Oberbayern region of Bavaria, Germany, serving as capital of the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district, with 30,135 residents as of December 2024. More than 1,200 years old, it was inhabited in the Bronze Age and hosted a Roman settlement that formed part of the empire border defenses, and from 1557 to 1742 it was capital of the Palatinate-Neuburg principality before being reincorporated into Bavaria.
