Novigrad is a town on a small peninsula on the western coast of Istria in Croatia, about two kilometers north of the mouth of the Mirna River and roughly twenty five kilometers south of the Slovenian border. Its municipality had a population of 3,889 at the 2021 census, with 2,292 residents in the town proper. The medieval peninsula settlement preserves Venetian Gothic architecture and fortified town walls with battlements and round towers, and the town maintains official Croatian-Italian bilingualism.
