Olympia is the capital city of the U.S. state of Washington and the county seat of Thurston County, on Budd Inlet in the South Puget Sound region about fifty miles southwest of Seattle. Beyond its governmental role, the city gained international recognition in the 1990s as a center of grunge and riot grrrl punk music. It is home to the Evergreen State College and offers fare-free public bus service.
