Orange is a regional city on the western edge of the Central Tablelands in New South Wales, Australia, about 254 kilometers west of Sydney at an elevation of 862 meters, on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri Nation. It had an urban population of 41,920 at the 2021 census and was established in 1846. The city is the birthplace of the poets Banjo Paterson and Kenneth Slessor and hosted the first Australian Touring Car Championship in 1960 at the Gnoo Blas Motor Racing Circuit.
