Orsk is the second largest city in Orenburg Oblast, Russia, situated on the steppe about 100 kilometers southeast of the southern tip of the Ural Mountains and straddling the Ural River near the border with Kazakhstan. Its population was 239,800 at the 2010 census, down from 270,711 at the 1989 Soviet census.
