Paderborn is a city in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and capital of the Paderborn district. Its name derives from the river Pader and the old German word Born for the source of a river; the Pader itself rises from more than 200 springs near Paderborn Cathedral, where Saint Liborius is buried.
