Panjin is a coastal prefecture-level city in central Liaoning province, China, on the northern shore of Liaodong Bay, bordering Anshan to the east, Yingkou to the southeast, and Jinzhou to the west and north. It is both the smallest city by area in Liaoning and all of Northeast China, at 3,825 square kilometers, and the province's least populous city, with 1,389,691 people at the 2020 census across its two urban districts and Dawa and Panshan counties.
