Pécel is a town in Pest county, Hungary, in the Budapest metropolitan area a little over 20 kilometres from the capital's city centre. As of 2007 the town had 14,328 residents across an area of 43.63 square kilometres. Its most prominent landmark is the Ráday palace, and the town is linked to the noble Ráday family, including the soldier and politician Gedeon Ráday, who served as Hungary's Minister of Defence. Pécel maintains sister-city relationships with Mistelbach in Austria and Iisalmi in Finland.
