Pedasa was an ancient city-state in Caria, reaching polis status by about 400 BC, its site situated near modern Gokceler in Turkey's Mugla province. It was a member of the Athenian-led Delian League, and Alexander the Great later reduced its autonomy by transferring its control, along with five neighboring settlements, to Halicarnassus. The city is remembered chiefly through Hermotimus of Pedasa, a eunuch who rose to prominence at the court of the Persian king Xerxes.
