Penco is a city and commune in the Concepción Province of Chile Bío Bío Region, on the Bay of Concepción. It was founded on February 12, 1550, by Pedro de Valdivia as the city of Concepción del Nuevo Extremo, making it Chile third-oldest urban settlement after Santiago and La Serena.
