Phlius

Southern Europe

Phlius, also spelled Phleius, was an independent polis in the northeastern part of the Peloponnese in ancient Greece. Its territory, called Phliasia, was a small valley about 900 feet above sea level, bounded by Sicyonia to the north, Arcadia to the west, Cleonae to the east and Argolis to the south, with streams flowing down from the surrounding mountains to join the river Asopus at its center.
