Pintia

Pintia was an ancient city of the Vaccaei people, an early Celtic society of northern Iberia who occupied the valley between the Duero and Pisuerga rivers, located near modern Padilla de Duero in the province of Valladolid in central Spain. After the Romans defeated the Arevaci at Numantia they conquered Vaccaei settlements, including Pintia, that had aided the besieged city, effectively ending Vaccaei civilization in the region. Excavations at Padilla de Duero, overseen by the University of Valladolid, have identified three zones of the site: Las Quintanas, the city proper; Las Ruedas, its necropolis; and Carralacena, a pottery district near Pesquera de Duero.
