A city in southwestern Pennsylvania, seat of Allegheny County, at the point where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers join to form the Ohio River. Its population of 302,971 at the 2020 census makes it Pennsylvania's second-most populous city after Philadelphia, and its metropolitan area is the largest in the Ohio Valley and Appalachia.
