Pogradec is the eleventh most populous city in Albania and the capital of the eponymous municipality in Korce County, situated on a narrow plain between two mountain chains along the southwestern shore of Lake Ohrid. Its municipality had a population of 46,070 at the 2023 census, with 17,371 residents in the city proper. Pogradec lies within the UNESCO World Heritage listed natural and cultural heritage area of the Ohrid region and is the hometown of the Albanian writers Lasgush Poradeci and Mitrush Kuteli.
