Puerto Plata, officially San Felipe de Puerto Plata, is a major coastal city in the Dominican Republic and the capital of Puerto Plata Province. It is a major trading port and a tourism hub with resorts such as Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada, and it is home to the Caribbean's first aerial tramway, which carries visitors up the 793 meter Pico Isabel de Torres.
