Purbalingga is a town in Central Java, Indonesia, capital of Purbalingga Regency, with a mid-2025 population estimate of about 57,308 across 15.66 square kilometers at an elevation of 144 meters. The district comprises eleven urban and two rural villages centered on its town square, or alun-alun, and it experiences a tropical rainforest climate with heavy rain from October through June.
