Radeče

Radece is a small town in the Lower Sava Valley of the Lower Carniola region in eastern Slovenia, on the right bank of the Sava River at its confluence with the Sopota Creek, with a 2022 population of 1,939. First mentioned in records in 1297 and granted market rights in 1338, it was formally declared a town in 1925 by King Alexander of Yugoslavia, and was historically a center for timber rafting on the Sava and for paper production documented as early as 1725; its iron bridge of 1893 to 1894, designed by Czech architect Jan Vladimir Hrasky, is a protected cultural monument.
