Rosario, officially the Autonomous City of Rosario, is a city in central Argentina in the south of Santa Fe province, located on the west bank of the Parana River about 300 kilometers northwest of Buenos Aires. The country's third most populous city, Rosario is a major river port for grain exports from the surrounding Pampas, and is widely known as the birthplace of Argentine revolutionary Che Guevara and of the national flag, first raised there in 1812.
