Rosario de la Frontera is a city in the center-south of Salta Province, Argentina, and the administrative center of the department of the same name, situated on National Route 9 by the Horcones River at an elevation of about 770 metres. The 2010 census recorded 26,174 residents in the city, within a department of 260,174 people. The climate is classified as dry-winter humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild, dry winters, and about 927 millimetres of rain fall annually.
