Rovinj is a city on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, on the northern Adriatic Sea, with a population of 14,294 recorded in 2011. It is a popular tourist resort and an active fishing port, and it is officially bilingual in Croatian and Italian; Istriot, a Romance language once widely spoken in the area, is still spoken by some residents.
