Ruse

Ruse is the sixth-largest city in Bulgaria and a major hub of commerce, culture and transportation, situated on the right bank of the Danube in the northeastern part of the country opposite the Romanian city of Giurgiu. It functions as Bulgaria most significant river port and is known for well-preserved nineteenth and twentieth century Neo-Baroque and Neo-Rococo architecture that has earned it the nickname Little Vienna. Ruse was the birthplace of the Nobel Prize winning author Elias Canetti and is home to a university and a state opera house.
