Rybnik is a city in the Silesian Voivodeship of southern Poland, about 38 kilometers southwest of the regional capital Katowice and 19 kilometers from the Czech border. It is one of the major cities of the Katowice-Ostrava metropolitan area, historically known as the Rybnik Coal Area, and had a population of 122,026 as of the end of 2025.
