San Fernando is a component city and the capital of Pampanga province, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. Founded on August 16, 1754 and chartered as a city on February 4, 2001, it had a 2024 census population of 377,534 across 67.74 square kilometers. Known as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines for its annual Giant Lantern Festival, the city is the birthplace of Jose Abad Santos, the country fifth chief justice, and is one of two Philippine provincial capitals named San Fernando.
