San Francisco de Macorís is a city in the Cibao region of the Dominican Republic, in the northeast of the country. It is the capital of Duarte Province and has been the sixth most populated city in the Dominican Republic since 2010; its name combines Saint Francis, patron saint of the Franciscan Order, with Macorix, the territory's old name.
