The largest city and administrative center of Saratov Oblast in Russia and a major port on the Volga River, with a population of 901,361 at the 2021 census, making it the 17th-largest city in Russia. It lies 389 kilometers north of Volgograd, 442 kilometers south of Samara, and 858 kilometers southeast of Moscow.
