Scylace

Western Asia

Scylace, also called Skylake, was a town of ancient Mysia on the coast of the Propontis, east of the city of Cyzicus, in what is now northwestern Turkey. It was a Pelasgian settlement, and the historian Herodotus recorded that its people, along with those of neighbouring Placia, still preserved their ancient language in his own time. Its tentative site lies near modern Yeni Koy in Turkey's Bursa Province.
