Seehausen is a town in the Stendal district of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, in the Altmark region about 30 kilometres north of Stendal. First documented in 1174, it developed as a medieval trading town on the Aland River and joined the Hanseatic League in 1359. Its well-preserved medieval core includes St. Petri Church, begun in 1170, and a fifteenth-century town wall. The archaeologist and art historian Johann Joachim Winckelmann taught in Seehausen from 1743 to 1748, and the town had 4,554 residents at the end of 2024 after absorbing four neighbouring municipalities between 2010 and 2011.
