Selat Panjang is the capital of Kepulauan Meranti Regency in Riau province, Indonesia, a regency established in December 2008 after separating from Bengkalis Regency. The town sits on Tebing Tinggi Island, separated by a narrow channel from Sumatra and facing the Strait of Malacca toward Singapore.
