Selenicë is a municipality in Vlorë County in southwestern Albania, formed in 2015 from the merger of five former municipalities and covering an area of 561.52 square kilometers. The 2011 census recorded a population of 16,396, with the former municipality of Selenica notable as the only commune where self-declared Aromanians outnumbered ethnic Albanians. The area is known for its bitumen mines. In 2021 the 10 May 1905 School was established there as the first school in Albania to teach the Aromanian and Romanian languages to Aromanian children.
