Shinagawa is a special ward in the Tokyo Metropolis of Japan, and the ward refers to itself as Shinagawa City in English. It is home to eleven embassies. As of 1 October 2020 it had 422,488 residents, and it covers 22.84 square kilometres. The name Shinagawa is also commonly used for the business district around Shinagawa Station, but that district lies in the Takanawa and Konan neighborhoods of Minato Ward, directly north of Kita-Shinagawa, and not in Shinagawa Ward itself.
