Sinus (Chalcidice)
Southern Europe
Sinus, also known as Sinos, was a town of Chalcidice in ancient Macedonia, in what is now Greece. It belonged to the Delian League, appearing in Athenian tribute records for 434 and 433 BC, when it paid a phoros of 1,500 drachmas, and again in 421 or 420 BC, when it paid 800 drachmas, as well as in a tribute decree of 422 or 421 BC. Its territory was probably the district recorded as Sinea in an inscription dated to between 305 and 297 BC.
