Skawina is a town in southern Poland, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, situated on the Skawinka river in close proximity to the city of Krakow, with 27,328 inhabitants as of 2008 across an area of 20.50 square kilometers; its name probably derives from the Skawinka river, and one of its most notable historic buildings is a Renaissance palace built in the mid-16th century by Pawel Korytko.
