Sławno is a town on the Wieprza river in the Middle Pomerania region of West Pomeranian Voivodeship, northwestern Poland, and the capital of Sławno County. Formerly known by its German name Schlawe, it served as the capital of a small eponymous duchy from 1190 to 1238, received town rights in 1317, and remained under Pomeranian rule until 1637. The town was heavily damaged during the Second World War and was returned to Poland after the German defeat in 1945. It had 12,511 inhabitants in 2019 across 15.83 square kilometers and is a railway junction on lines connecting Gdansk and Szczecin.
