Songyuan

Songyuan is a prefecture-level city in west-central Jilin province, China, covering about 22,034 square kilometers at the meeting point of Jilin, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia, incorporated as a city in 1992. The 2010 census recorded 2,881,082 residents, with an urban population of 495,900 in 2017; the city lies within a major corn-growing region known as the Golden Corn Belt and hosts the Jilin Oil Field, ranked the sixth largest land-based oil field in the country, along with Songyuan Port, the largest inland river port in Jilin province, and Chagan Lake, one of the ten largest freshwater lakes in China.
