Spanish Town is the capital and largest town of the parish of Saint Catherine in Jamaica, and was the Spanish and then British capital of the island from 1534 until 1872. Founded as Villa de la Vega, it is home to the country's national archives and one of the oldest Anglican churches outside England, and had an estimated population of 145,018 in 2021.
