FAQs

Was Csepreg always a small town?

In the late Middle Ages it was one of Hungary's most populous market towns.

No. The official Csepreg city website says Csepreg was one of the most populous market towns in Hungary in the late Middle Ages. It gives a figure of about 1,650 inhabitants based on data from 1522, which is a large population for a Hungarian settlement of that period.
