The Sunshine Coast is a peri-urban region in South East Queensland, Australia, about 100 kilometers north of Brisbane, spanning roughly 60 kilometers of coastline and hinterland from Pelican Waters to Tewantin. It includes coastal hubs such as Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore and Noosa Heads, with Nambour and Maleny serving as the hinterland's main commercial centres. Since 2014 the district has been administratively split between the Sunshine Coast Region and the Shire of Noosa, and its urban population of about 398,840 in 2021 made it the ninth most populous urban area in Australia.
