Tafuna is a village on Tutuila Island in American Samoa, a United States territory, and is the territory's most populous village, with 7,988 residents at the 2020 census. It is home to Pago Pago International Airport, built on the Tafuna Plain in the early 1940s as part of wartime military construction, whose main runway opened in March 1942 and which received its first jet service, a Pan Am Boeing 707, in July 1962.
