Talas is a town in northwestern Kyrgyzstan, in the Talas river valley between two mountain ranges, and serves as the administrative center of Talas Region. It was founded in 1877 by East Slavic settlers and had a population of 40,308 in the 2021 census. Besh-Tash National Park lies to its south in the Besh-Tash valley.
