Tandag is a component city and the capital of Surigao del Sur province, in the Caraga region of the Philippines, on Mindanao northeastern coast facing the Philippine Sea. Chartered as a city under Republic Act No. 9392 in 2007, a status the Supreme Court finally affirmed in 2011 after a six year legal battle, it had a 2024 census population of 63,098 across 291.73 square kilometers. Ten of its 21 barangays face the Pacific Ocean, and the city has both a national secondary airport and a seaport, with rice, corn and coconut as its chief agricultural products.
