Tét

Tét is a town in Gyor-Moson-Sopron County, Hungary, in the Little Hungarian Plain region between Papa, twenty-one kilometers to the north, and Gyor, twenty-four kilometers to the south, and serves as the seat of Tét District. In 1910 it was a village of 4,111 people including 432 Jewish residents; during the Holocaust its Jewish community was forced into a transit ghetto and deported on Holocaust trains to Auschwitz-Birkenau, and its residents appear in the Auschwitz Album, the only surviving pictorial record of the extermination process taken from inside Birkenau. The town received official town status in 2001 and had about 4,020 inhabitants as of 2015.
