Trenton is the capital city of the U.S. state of New Jersey and the seat of Mercer County, on the Delaware River in central New Jersey. Once a major manufacturing center for ceramics, wire rope, rubber and steel, it carried the slogan Trenton Makes, The World Takes. The city holds significant Revolutionary War history, including the Battle of Trenton in December 1776, and briefly served as the United States' capital from November to December 1784.
