Trnava is a city in western Slovakia, 47 kilometers northeast of Bratislava on the Trnavka river. It is the capital of the Trnava Region and Trnava District and the seat of a Roman Catholic archbishopric; because of the many churches within its historic city walls it has often been called Little Rome, or the Slovak Rome.
